Fix The Roof!

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

At Harrow and Wealdstone recently, a huge piece of the ceiling in the ticket hall collapsed, along with one of the lamps. Luckily, this happened at 4am and nobody was hurt. Just a few weeks ago, a piece of the ceiling in the cleaners' mess room also collapsed. Again, fortunately, no-one was hurt.

The truth is, the roof of the whole station needs to be repaired. It is dangerous for all who work and travel. Builders patch things up but it doesn't look like the necessary repairs are being done long-term. Is it because it costs less to pay compensation if someone is injured than to repair a whole roof?

How much is a worker's life, or a passenger's life, worth to LU?
