Stock Training Farce

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

New Jubilee Line drivers have fallen victim to a farcical 'pilot' stock training. Three weeks training has been squeezed into about seven days before the written test, followed by two days before the practical. Trainees whizz through the 14 modules contained in the manual in just five days, at such breakneck speed that it is easy to get left behind.

Unsurprisingly, nearly half failed the course. Having gone through all the hurdles of achieving promotion, they have been treated as guinea pigs and made to pay the price for a poorly-designed course. And those who did get through will go into their new driving job without adequate training.

It's the course that's the failure, not the staff. Everyone who 'failed' should immediately go on a proper training course - with suitable apologies from management.
