Nine Per Line?

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

Word has it that management have ordered that at least nine stations posts are held vacant on each line. So that's 100ish across the job.

Which means 100ish staff who should be able to move up the career ladder or transfer to a station they prefer being blocked from doing so. It means 100ish locations where the staff are having to run the station with one fewer person than they actually need. It means passengers less likely to find someone to help them when they need it. And it means 100ish Londoners staying on the dole when there is work to be done.

Still, when there is money to be saved, why worry about small matters such as that?!
