A tunnel has collapsed on the Moscow subway, piercing the roof of a train car. Apparently, workers at ground level were driving a pillar into the ground to put up an advert hoarding. The litany of safety concerns icludes: the work not having the correct authorisation; and the obvious weakness of the tunnel to start with.
Fortunately (very fortunately) no-one was hurt.
The whole system is in need of renovation. Let's hope that they look at London Underground and decide against a public-private partnership as the answer to their problems.
