Vic Line drivers - ready to strike!

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

RMT drivers on the Victoria line have delivered a whopping vote for strike action, reflecting their anger and management’s behaviour on the line. ASLEF are balloting now, with the result due on 12 August. Every ASLEF driver needs to vote Yes, to maximise the pressure we can put on the company.

The issues at work have dragged on for a long time now, and some drivers are understandably frustrated to hear that the latest meeting between the unions and management seems to have agreed to little more than to hold another meeting! But this is because management are still in denial about the seriousness of the problem.

More importantly, if a short delay allows the two unions to act together and close the line, then it will probably be worth the wait. Once the result is in though, let’s go for it without any further faffing about.
