Solidarity 3-67 carried a short interview with Abrahim Rahimi an eighteen year old Afghan man who wants to stay in this country. Here are some more details about his case. Abrahim was snatched and detained on November 8th 2004 by immigration officials so that he could be deported to Afghanistan because his asylum claim had failed. Hortance Mbebo must stay

Hortance Mbebo came to Britain from Cameroon two years ago seeking asylum. She is now married to Peter Luow, who works for Hackney Council and is a member of UNISON. But the Home Office wants to ruin her new life in this country and deport her to Cameroon. Peter's union branch is running a lively and - so far - effective campaign to stop Hortance being deported.
