Recently at Bank/Monument Station staff were instructed to advise customers that there was no Bank branch service because of a faulty train at Elephant.
On Tuesday morning, an elderly passenger dropped some personal stuff on the track on the westbound at Chancery Lane - and got down onto the track to retrieve it! Fortunately, some other passengers got him off the track in time to avert a nasty accident, but it was a potential disaster for the passenger and a trauma for the driver.
On Saturday night, there was an incident at Bank in which three of the four staff involved were assaulted. It's only the big stations where you would even find four staff on duty at the same time any more, but the staffing levels are obviously still woefully inadequate.
Once again, London Underground has left stations unstaffed, and once again there have been potentially-dire consequences.
