As LUL’s job cuts programme continues across stations, we’re seeing the consequences of understaffing as stations continue to close due to lack of staff.
RMT is balloting driver members on the Bakerloo, Central, Hammersmith and City, District, and Northern lines for strikes to resist the removal of detrainment duties at terminating stations.
Aslef has called strikes on the Bakerloo line on 4 and 11 February, after drivers voted 99% in favour of industrial action short of strikes, and 95% in favour of strikes, on an 80% turnout.
Rosters with reduced staffing levels have already been imposed on Victoria Centre, Heathrow, and King's Cross cover groups, with the next tranche of impositions due to take place on 29 January.
RMT members in four areas on LUL stations - Victoria Centre (Euston/Green Park), King's Cross, Heathrow (Heathrow Terminals, Hatton Cross, Hounslow West), and the Special Requirements Team (SRT, a department of mobile station staff which provides extra staffing resources for events, projects, etc.) - will strike on 25 November.
RMT is re-balloting drivers as part of the dispute over enforced night working. That dispute is as important today as it was when the 2016 agreement was first ripped up, back in 2021.
The Victoria Centre cover group, which includes Euston, Green Park, and Victoria, is the latest station group to learn the detail of LU's plans for its staffing levels.
